
For over 20 years, Jeffery Ferris has honed his skills in the hospitality industry. With a focus on restaurant management, Jeff has served as a server in some of Richmond’s iconic establishments such as, Island Grill and the 4 diamond Berkeley Hotel. He later gained invaluable experience working for Michelle Williams and the Richmond Restaurant Group serving as General Manager at Europa in Richmond’s Shockoe Bottom. He and Michelle followed that up with the opening of Michelle’s at the Historic Barksdale Theater. Jeff was involved in the all aspects of the planning of Michelle’s, from dinning room design, creating of marketing materials and hiring and management of staff. The success of Michelle’s behind him he desired a new challenge.
In the fall of 2007, he teamed with long term friend Graham Reeves, who was the executive chef at Richmond’s infamous’ The Track Restaurant in Carytown. Their goal was to establish a catering company that focused on innovative food, unique event design and exceptional service. Hazel Ruth Fine Catering opened, deriving the name from each of their mother’s. Jeff’s mother is Ruth.
Hazel Ruth focuses providing their clients the complete experience of food, design and service that cannot be found elsewhere in the Region.
